'Since joining OPM over four years ago I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects with organisations from across the public and voluntary sector. These projects have all had the overarching aim of supporting individuals and organisations to effectively develop and implement public policy at both a local and national level.
I have been based in central Scotland for nearly two years and since moving here have focused my work on health, social care and equalities. I’ve really enjoyed building on and continuing the work that OPM did in 2006 on unpaid carers in Scotland, as well as exploring opportunities to disseminate the learning from OPM’s extensive work on personalisation and self-directed support.
It is important to me in my work to seek out opportunities, where possible, to use experience from one area or project to help inform the development and success of another with the aim of ensuring the efficient use of public money in increasingly challenging times.'
