Leigh is an experienced mixed methods researcher with particular interest in evidence based policy and practice.
‘I am an experienced mixed-methods social researcher with a particular interest in evidence based policy and practice. I am driven by my desire to make a difference, to help public services deliver better outcomes and ultimately improve the lives of the communities they serve.
I thrive on being able to offer my expertise in a range of different research methodologies to deliver high quality, robust and reliable research evidence within the day-to-day pressures and constraints faced by policymakers and public services. I really enjoy working closely with organisations and policy makers to identify what kinds of things work well, how this can shape existing and future policy and then disseminating this into practice on the ground.
I am particularly passionate about facilitating dialogue between those who develop, decide upon and implement policy and the people on whom those policies have an impact to ensure that organisations are making decisions that reflect what communities need and want. The contribution citizens and communities make, and the empowering benefits of effective citizen engagement and collaboration are often invaluable to what I do.
I have experience of working with a vast range of public services including central government departments, non-departmental public bodies, local authorities, health trusts and voluntary and community organisations.’
