Elena De Besi
Elena joined Dialogue by Design in September 2014 as a Project Coordinator. Her role involves supporting the work of project managers in the execution and administration of public consultations, such as the HS2 Property Compensation 2014 and the National Grid North West Coast Connections consultations.
She has experience of research & analysis for the development and evaluation of public policies and aid programs, particularly in the areas of private sector development, international integration and environmental conservation. She holds an MSc in Development Administration and Planning at University College London, during which she was project manager for a research project intended to assess the SME National Development Strategy in Ethiopia. Her final dissertation focused on the conditions for the long-term sustainability of Payments for Ecosystem Services schemes in developing countries.
Prior to joining DbyD, she has worked as a research assistant supporting through analytical work on the development, monitoring & evaluation of aid programs and organisations, e.g. the Evaluation of the International Trade Centre 2006 – 2012 and the strategy development of the West Africa Food Markets Policy Facility. Her background also includes almost two years at the Italian Embassy in Santo Domingo being in charge of the Commercial Department.
Elena is a fluent speaker of Italian and Spanish, working proficiency in French and is currently studying Portuguese.
