Alison Benson

Alison is a highly experienced qualitative researcher and qualified Healthcare Professional (former Nurse).

“As a former nurse and having run my own qualitative research consultancy specialising in health and social research for 20 years I have huge expertise in understanding the health sector working on a wide variety of projects amongst healthcare professionals, patients and stakeholders. My involvement has covered projects within the public, private and third sector. I also have wide experience in researching hard to reach audiences, sensitive issues, children and young people.

During my time as an associate for OPM, I have used my extensive experience in facilitating focus groups with patients and professionals and been involved in deliberative events for the NW London Acute Services review.

I have a natural ability to build rapport and engage with audiences with both depth and empathy, at all levels both the less confident and articulate and senior level staff. As an NLP practitioner, I am able to use a range of methodologies and creative approaches to encourage open and honest debate. I have wide experience of using a range of qualitative methodologies and techniques including carousel groups, consumer clinics and conflict groups.

I have recently been involved in helping a number of charities including: Tomorrows People, Netbuddy and World Jewish Relief and have been an active council member and part of the management team in my local synagogue community.”
