The future of the NHS

image of Deborah RozanskyImplementing the NHS reforms poses many challenges. How can commissioners, providers and clinicians improve patient care? How do we make sure the patient voice is heard? How do clinical leaders manage the new commissioning marketplace?

The recent NHS Alliance conference gave many an opportunity to talk about these questions. We'd like to continue the conversation on these topics with a range of articles in this newsletter. In one I present some good news about how the NHS compares internationally. And Robin Clarke discusses patient and public involvement and clinical commissioning groups. In The NHS – a social network?, I talk about re-imagining the NHS as a social network, where cooperation is rewarded, creating new possibilities for improving patient care.

At OPM, we've learned a lot from our leadership, engagement and evaluation work in the health sector. For a few of our projects, we thought we'd share some case studies of how we approached the work.

We'd be interested to hear what challenges you've encountered with the reforms and how you're dealing with them. Let us know by sharing a comment on our blog or by sending us a tweet. Or email me.
